Degree Program M.A. Japanese Studies
The M.A. in Japanese Studies focuses on the application of scientific methods and the deepening of specialist knowledge in Japanese studies.
Students expand their language skills, including in older forms of the language, and can deepen their interests in the cultural studies or social sciences/history.
Overview
The standard period of study is four semesters and concludes with a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree. With their master's thesis, students demonstrate their ability to work independently on an academic question within a specified period of time. Students with a strong academic interest can then go on to pursue a doctorate.
