Call for Fellowships

The Young Centre for Advanced Studies (Junges Kolleg) (Re)thinking and Doing Futures participates in the fellowship program of the International Institute of Asian Studies (IIAS) at Leiden University. Fellows are invited to stay at the Heidelberg Centre for Asian and Transcultural Studies as a co-host of the fellowship program and profit from the research activities and the stimulating intellectual environment provided by the Centre. We are particularly looking for young scholars who are interested in exploring in how far crises (ecological, social, and political) are not only threatening but may also mark the beginning of radical transformations that can lead to new world models. How they may open up space for creative rethinking and new ways of narrating the future. Forming a part of the Centre's learning community, the fellows take an active role in examining and/or conceptualizing alternative models for actionable futures, drawing on the strengths of the humanities and social sciences.
