“East Asia Today” is a regular series of lectures and discussions organised by Prof. Dr Anja Senz and her team at the Institute of Chinese Studies at Heidelberg University. The lectures are focussed on political, economic, and social developments in the Chinese-speaking world, as well as in Korea and Japan.

Joint Workshop with SKKU

Since February 2025, the Korea working group has been organising an annual research workshop in collaboration with the Academy of East Asian Studies at Sungkyunkwan University, aimed particularly at early-career researchers. This event will from now on be hosted alternately in Heidelberg and Seoul each year. Its purpose is to give young researchers the opportunity to present their own research projects and to foster mutual academic exchange.
