Online-access to the digital resources of the non-profit publisher "Annual Reviews". "Annual Reviews" publishes a collection of 41 volumes of critical scientific papers representing the latest state of research in diverse disciplines in the social and natural sciences. Brill's Asian Studies E-Books Online is the electronic version of the book publication program of Brill in the field of Asian Studies. Coverage: China, Japan, Korea, Tibet, Central Asia, South Asia, South East Asia, History, Archeology, Sociology, Anthropology, Religion, Philosophy, Languages.

Business Source Premier includes and regularly updates over 10.000  economic full text publications. More than 2.300 e-journals are available in full text. as well as numerous e-books.  Moreover Business Source Premier offers information about ~10.000 of the world's biggest companies. Cambridge Journals

E-journal portal of Cambridge University Press. Members of Heidelberg University have access to more than 250 scientific journals in full text, e.g. "The China Quarterly". A cross-journal full text search is available. an alphabetic overview of the available e-journals may be found here.

China Academic Journals

CAJ offers chinese scientific journals in full text from all disciplines. The archive includes issues from 1994 on (some even from 1979) up to 2011. Overall the database  gives access to approximately  7.500 journals with more than 23.5 million articles. CAJ is separated into the following categories: Science and Engineering (ABC), Agriculture, Medicine/Hygiene, Literature/History/Philosophy, Economics/Politics/Law, Education/Social Science, Electronics/Information Science.

China Online Journals

The China Online Journals (COJ) database provides full-text access to more then 6000 academic journals published in the PRC since 1998. Up to the end of 2010 over 16 Mio. article are accessible, including those coming from over 2500 core journal. Currently articles newer then 12.2010 can not be accessed.

Hong Kong Journals Online

Hong Kong Journals Online (HKJO) is a full-text image database providing access to selected academic and professional journals, both in English and Chinese, published in Hong Kong. Titles included in this database cover a wide range of disciplines including law, medicine and education. A full list of journals may be found here.

JSTOR

JSTOR (short for Journal Storage) is a United States-based online system for archiving academic journals, founded in 1995. It provides full-text searches of digitized back issues of several hundred well-known journals. It provides access to these journals from the first issue to a "moving wall" (depending on the title up to 11 years before the latest issue). Some publishers have begun to make the latest issues of their publications available via JSTOR. A list of these publications may be found  here

LexisNexis

Press-, company- and financial information, information to  important people in business, politics and current affairs, economic analysis, country reports and legal reports.  Up-to-date articles of several thousand journals, magazines and newspapers are included in full text, e.g. Der Spiegel, The Independent, New York Times, Asia Pulse, El Pais. Another example source would be the entire  Hoppenstedt company database.

Oxford Journals

E-journal portal of Oxford University Press. Members of Heidelberg University have access to more than 230 scientific journals in full text, e.g. "Chinese Journal of Internationakl Law". and the "Chinese Journal of International Politcs". A cross-journal full text search is available. An alphabetic overview of the available e-journals may be found here.

Project MUSE

"Project MUSE" is an electronic full text archive including more than 450 journals of leading british and american academic publishers. It grants access to articles in nearly all disciplines  of the humanities and social sciences. Essays and articles are available in either HTML or PDF format. Sage Journals Online

Access to the e-journals of the american academic publisher Sage. Members of Heidelberg University  have access to more than 550 journals in full text, e.g. "China Information" and "China Report" .  A cross-journal full text search is integrated. SciVerse ScienceDirect

Access to selected Journals of SciVerse ScienceDirect via German National Licence.

ScienceDirect is a leading full-text scientific database offering journal articles and book chapters from more than 2,500 peer-reviewed journals and more than 11,000 books. There are currently more than 9.5 million articles/chapters, a content base that is growing at a rate of almost 0.5 million additions per year.

Social Science Research Network (SSRN)

The SSRN eLibrary consists of two parts: an Abstract Database containing abstracts on over 384,300 scholarly working papers and forthcoming papers and an Electronic Paper Collection currently containing over 315,000 downloadable full text documents in Adobe Acrobat pdf format.

Taiwan Electronic Periodical Services

TEPS (Taiwan Electronic Periodical Services) is an on-line database offering the most full-text Taiwan periodicals around the world. Currently TEPS contains more than 900 Taiwan Periodicals in various disciplines. The quantity is continually increasing.

Wiley Online Library

Access to the "Wiley Online Library", a multidisciplinary digital library including over 1.500 e-journals (e.g. "China & World Economy" ) and 8000 e-books. An overview of the available resources may be found here. There is also an archive including the electronic backfiles (up to 2005) of Blackwell Publishing. 241 titles are currently licensed.

WISO

"WISO Wissenschaften" (Portal für Wirtschaftswissenschaften und Sozialwissenschaften) provides access to over 340 e-journals in the economic disciplines. Sozialwissenschaften (social sciences) provides references to literature in the social and political sciences. "WISO Praxis" offers newspaper articles, company profiles, market analysis as well as compact overviews of important economic  issues.

Apabi Reference Books

The collection gives access to a broad selection of Chinese dictionaries, thesauruses, encyclopedias etc. including 中国大百科全书， 汉语大词典，辞海 and numerous smaller and specialized reference books. Searches can be performed on the fulltext or confined to head entries, to a certain kind or subject group of reference books and to one specific title. Individual titles can be browsed and read online and scans of the original pages are provided.

Chinamaxx

Access to about 700.000 chinese e-Books in all disciplines. The database covers the years 1900 to 2009. A full text search engine is integrated into the Chinamaxx database.

Duxiu

"Access to 3,3 million Chinese bibliographic entries and 2,4 million full text resourcessuch as books, journal articles, conference papers and also video clips. Duxiu covers Chinese publications from the early the 1930s to the present."

EBSCOhost E-Books

Access to about 1.000 E-Books of the following fields: Business and Economics, Science and Engineering, Social and Behavioral Sciences,Humanities, Area Studies. In addition, about 3.400 free ebooks of all fields may be accessed.

myilibrary

MyiLibrary is a collection of electronic books of various, mainly american and british publishers. Currently about 275 e-books are licensed  and available in full text.

OECD iLibrary

OECD iLibrary is the online portal for publications of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). The portal provides access to all studies and statistics of the OECD and can be regarded as one of the biggest online libraries for economic, social and environmental data and studies. OECDiLibrary adds about 200 new e-books yearly and grants access to the OECD archives from 1998 on.

Paper C

PaperC is an online platform for specialist books, including academic, reference and technical texts. The books can be read for free online, copying or printing costs 10 Cent per page. A list of available e-books may be found here.

Springer E-Books

full text access to approximately 45.000 English and German e-books in  numerous disciplines of the publishing group Springer. An overview of the available e-books may be found here.

Western Books on China

This database includes over 600 publications about imperial China that have been published in Europe before 1850. The collection is based on "Western Books on China published up to 1850" by John Lust and  reflects the perception of China prevalent  in european societies of the time.

WISO

"WISO Wissenschaften" (Portal für Wirtschaftswissenschaften und Sozialwissenschaften) allows access to more than 1.100 E-Books in the economic as well as the social disciplines. Among the e-books are for example recent publications of the  Diplomica-Verlag about marketing, controlling and intellectual property in China.

World Bank eLibrary

The"World Bank E-Library Archive" includes 2.108 E-Books of the World Bank. The archive currently only includes titles published before 01.01.2009. In addition, the eLibrary grants access to two E-Journals (438 articles) as well as about 3.328 working papers.
