Erasmus and Study Abroad
Basic information on the recognition of credits earned abroad can be found here.
If you are planning a stay abroad through the Division of International Relations or through the exchange programs of Sinology and Japanese Studies, you must complete a Learning Agreement with the Academic Advisor at the Institute of East Asian Art History before your departure. The Learning Agreement will outline the credits to be earned during your stay and their recognition after your return from abroad. Changes and additions can be made during your stay abroad in consultation with the Academic Advisor. To avoid problems with credit transfer, please inform the Academic Advisor of any changes to your plans as soon as possible. The current Learning Agreement form can be found here.
Credits earned abroad must be submitted to the IKO Academic Advisor upon your return. Internships may also be completed abroad after consultation with the Academic Advisor.
Please note that the recognition of language courses (Chinese and Japanese) completed abroad is only possible after consultation with the Sinology or Japanese Studies departments!
The ERASMUS exchange is arranged with the Departmental Coordinator for Asian Studies. A list of current subject coordinators can be found here. Detailed information on the recognition of academic achievements earned during an ERASMUS exchange can also be found here.
The recognition of academic credits in Germany and abroad is subject to the regulations developed by the Faculty of Philosophy at Heidelberg University, which also comply with the Lisbon Convention on the Recognition of Academic Achievements Obtained Abroad.
