A delegation from Yamagata Prefecture, Japan, recently visited Heidelberg to discuss opportunities for deeper cooperation in the areas of academic studies, internships, and career entry.

Together with Tiger International Trading GmbH and FANJaH e.V., the alumni and support network for the Institute of Japanese Studies, the group discussed prospects for expanding German-Japanese exchange and internship opportunities. The focus was on how to open up additional opportunities for students and graduates of Japanese Studies to gain international practical experience and launch their careers in Japan.

The visit demonstrates how the Institute of Japanese Studies at Heidelberg complements its academic and language training through practical international collaborations. Together with FANJaH, the institute aims to deepen the exchange with its partners in Yamagata and, in the long term, open up new career prospects for members of Heidelberg University.
