Institut für Sinologie Chinese Word Class: A Tricky Issue in Linguistic Research and Language Learning

This lecture examines word classes in Chinese, addressing the difficulties of classification, the criteria used to distinguish classes, and special word classes in Chinese. It also draws on the history of linguistic scholarship, together with students’ own learning experiences, to explore several key issues in both the study and the teaching of Chinese word classes.
