Mailing lists

How do I subcribe to a list?

Most of the mailing lists are open to all interested persons. E-Mails to the mailing list will be delivered to every  subscriber's personal e-mail account. You can unsubscribe through the subsription page of a mailing list as well.  Once you have subscripted to a list, you can send e-mails to it. It is important that the sending address corresponds with the address you used during subscription. All postings are automaticaly archived. These archives are fulltext searchable.

Usage notes

The following lists primarily serve as channels of communication and information dissemination of the respective institutes and its members. Please refrain from posting advertisements of any kind to these lists.

Internal lists

The internal lists are only open to people with an email account at Heidelberg University (e.g. @uni-heidelberg.de, @zo.uni-heidelberg.de, @stud.uni-heidelberg.de). Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

I receive e-mails from a list, but are not allowed to post messages myself.
To send e-mails to a mailing list, two conditions have to be fulfilled:

  1. You have subscribed to the mailing list with a valid e-mail address
  2. You post the message from the currently subscribed e-mail address

In short: If you have subscribed with a web.de address you may not post messages from your second gmail account. Subscribed and posting address always have to be identical.

How do I determine which e-mail address I used to subsrcribe to a mailing list?
Please log on to the "Subscriber's Corner" on the list server. You can change all settings concerning your subscription there.

I have just received a message that I was removed from the mailing list. Why?
The mailing lists are administered automatically. In case messages cannot be delivered to a subscribed e-mail address, because the target account does not exist or is full, the server logs the number of delivery failures. After 10 delivery failures the address is automatically removed from the list. Please make sure that your e-mail provider offers enough storage or delete old e-mails. If you travel for a long time or you do not want to receive messages temporarily, please use the "Subscriber's Corner" to unsubscribe or activate e-mail forwarding to another account.

My e-mail address has changed. How do I update my subscribed address on the list server?
Please log on to the "Subscription Corner" of the respective list and change your e-mail address. Direct links: ZO-Info SinoInfo OAKG-Info ChinaNews and OstasienNews.
